Wild news for nature lovers: you can now celebrate ‘I do’ at Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast — and we’re zooming in on all the adorable details and wedding, elopement and photography package inclusions.

The Australia Zoo team has created special ceremony and reception packages that can be modified, added to, or curated to meet your needs. Optional extras include private animal experiences for the bridal couple, animal meet-and-greets, cakes and stationery, and Australia Zoo merch for wedding favours! They’re also happy to put you in touch with a trusted line-up of local wedding vendors.

No guests, no worries …

… because Australia Zoo has the cutest guests/witnesses you could ever hope to meet! If you’re planning an elopement or intimate wedding, the Enchanting Elopement Package delivers all the essentials for a magical experience. It’s designed for two but can include up to 40 guests (for an additional fee), and also works as a vow renewal. The best bit? You’ll enjoy a private animal experience, such as feeding the gorgeous giraffes or cuddling cute koalas as your photographer snaps the moment.

The Enchanting Elopement Package includes:

• Entry into Australia Zoo for the bridal couple within zoo hours
• Kangaroo Heaven or Africa ceremony site for up to 1 hour
• Private animal experience for the bridal couple
• Dedicated wedding planner
• Marriage celebrant & certificate of marriage
• Up to 2.5 hours of professional photography
• Edited high-resolution images + a low-resolution copy in a sharable online gallery• Registry table and two chairs + wet weather alternative (subject to availability)

Ceremonies on the savannah

Just imagine taking your loved ones on safari, having southern white rhinoceros, giraffes, and zebras as guests, and watching cheeky meerkats stop by for a sticky beak! If you’re smitten with the African savannah, this is the package for you. For a minimum of 50 guests, max. 100.

Serengeti Safari Ceremony Package includes:

• Entry into Australia Zoo within zoo hours
• Private use of African ceremony site for up to 1.5 hours
• Registry table set with 16 guest chairs (additional chairs available as an upgrade)
•  2.5-hour onsite photo shoot: includes ceremony & portrait session + bridal buggy transport
•  Edited high-resolution images + a low-resolution copy in a sharable online gallery
• Dedicated wedding coordinator
• Access to Australia Zoo for one wedding rehearsal for the bridal party (by appointment only).

Price: $159 pp (midweek discount of $119 pp) Nice to know: The Serengeti Sunset Ceremony & Pre-Dinner Drinks package includes extra time to take in those dreamy sunset vistas, drinks, and canapés.

Just you & the roos


This package puts you among the gorgeous gum trees in Roo Heaven. Minimum of 50 guests, max 100.

The Closest Thing To Heaven Ceremony Package includes:

• Grey Roo Heaven ceremony site for up to 1.5 hours
• Registry table set with 16 guest chairs (extra chairs available as an upgrade)
• 2.5-hour onsite photo shoot: includes ceremony & portrait session + bridal buggy transport
• Edited high-resolution images + a low-resolution copy in a sharable online gallery
• Complimentary wet weather alternative
• Dedicated wedding coordinator
• Access to Australia Zoo for one wedding rehearsal for bridal party (by appointment only).

Nice to know: If you’re considering a midweek wedding (Monday-Thursday) several Australia Zoo packages offer a substantial discount per person.

Celebrate at Crikey Café

Australia Zoo also offers wedding reception packages at the Crikey Café, overlooking the famous Crocoseum with plenty of room to spread your wings and dance the night away. Your guests will be seated at the zoo’s Queensland hardwood tables (some were even crafted by Steve himself) beneath beautiful festoon lighting. The cocktail-style Blossom Package includes a range of delicious canapés while the Eucalyptus Package offers pre-dinner drinks followed by a sit-down, two-course meal featuring fresh local ingredients. Note: Reception packages can only be booked in conjunction with a ceremony package.

Get wild with a wedding photography package

If you’re hosting your nuptials elsewhere but love the idea of being snapped with a snake or captured cuddling a koala, this package is for you.

Wedding Photography Package includes:

• Zoo admission for bridal couple and their photographer within zoo hours
• Zoo staff member to chauffeur you around in a bridal buggy for 1.5 hours
• Private animal experience with three beautiful animals including a koala, a snake, and a bird.
• If the weather is unfavourable (although the ducks may disagree) this package includes a wet weather alternative (subject to availability).
