Many glorious looks emerged from the recent New York Bridal Fashion Week: colour, overskirts, sculptural shapes, and an ongoing obsession with corsetry among them. But the story blossoming in almost every collection was …. (drum roll, please) florals!
Well, botanicals and blooms, to be exact. With features of delicate 3D petals and floating floral appliqués to trailing leaf motifs, floral jacquard fabrics and painterly prints, floral-inspired wedding gowns continue to be a huge trend with brides. Some boldly blooming, some more subtly woven into lace or tulle – and all utterly gorgeous!
For New York’s Fall 23 season, these floral frocks seemed to speak more broadly to the natural world as a joyful symbol of beauty, renewal, and fresh starts. And what’s not to love about that?
We headed into the garden, looking to local and international designers when hand-picking 25 bridal gowns that ace the brief in whimsical and wonderful ways — all ready to bloom for your Queensland wedding. [feature image: Desert Rose, Dreams by Lihi Hod Fall24]
