This love story is a little special to us here at QB. Erinn (the daughter of Hayley, our former office manager) first met Marko on a night out in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and quickly fell for his pale blue eyes (and 6’4” height). We don’t blame her. The two talked for hours about their mutual love of sci-fi films, art, conspiracy theories and their international backgrounds (Erinn is from South Africa and Marko from Croatia).
They went on to date for two years until, one day, Marko took Erinn on a romantic gondola trip on the Brisbane River. She sensed his nerves – and thought he was going to break up with her! Thankfully, she got it wrong. “I don’t think he could get the words out properly, so he just took my hand and put it on his shirt pocket – I felt a ring and just burst into tears,” she recalls.
