You can meet some interesting characters on a night out – just ask Monique, who crossed paths with her future husband when celebrating a friend’s birthday. “We kept catching each other’s eye, and then Thomas plucked up the courage to make his way over for a chat,” says Monique. “He was adamant that I couldn’t leave without promising him a date.” We suspect Thomas got his ideas from Ryan Gosling in The Notebook.
