YOUR GUIDE TO PERFECT SPRING HAIR
Okay, so in The Devil Wears Prada Her Majesty Meryl Streep may have said, “Florals for spring… groundbreaking,” but here at QB we love brides who embrace the season’s natural beauty. Whether adorned with flowers, flowing in tresses or tied in romantic braids and adorned with jewels, spring hair is all about timeless, fresh beauty that simply make brides glow.
We asked some Queensland talents for their top tips for perfect spring hair.

THE FINAL CUT
Kylie, Kylie’s Professional: “Have your hair treated and coloured around four to seven days prior to the big day. Don’t experiment with new colours or hairstyles for months before your wedding, just in case you don’t like them. Hair takes a long time to repair and colour-correct.”
Abigael, Two Makeup Chicks: “If you’re growing your hair for your wedding, have regular small trims to keep the ends fresh. Talk with your hair stylists about how you’d normally wear your hair, as well as your dress style and if you’re having a veil. They’ll help you decide on a style that’s ‘you’.”
Dina, Hare’s Hair: “Ideally, a bride-to-be will go on a hair colour programme 12 months before the big day, so she’ll know exactly what she wants, and then have the final colour done the week before.”
LOOKS TO LOVE
Kylie, Kylie’s Professional: “Keep it soft and pretty. This spring the focus will be on textured braids and low buns or chignons. Hair will also be worn out in flowing waves.”
Abigael, Two Makeup Chicks: “Whimsical, romantic hair in braids is really in at the moment.”
Dina, Hare’s Hair: “It’s all about the messy braid this season. And curls – not pageant curls, but lovely and loose: think Sophia Vergara at her wedding.”
ON THE DAY
Abigael, Two Makeup Chicks: “If you’re pre-washing your hair in the morning before your stylist gets to you, make sure you wash out the conditioner really well as it will make it easier to style. Also, make sure you pack a small can of hairspray and bobby pins in a bridal emergency bag.”
Dina, Hare’s Hair: “Have your hair washed and blow dried the day before your wedding, so that it’s easier to work with on the actual day – the curls will form more easily. Oh, and be on time!”
