Wedding trends 2019: Remixed wedding roles

Pampered pooches playing ring bearer are almost de rigueur but we’re also seeing traditional wedding roles in general becoming a guide rather than the rule.

Expect bridesmen attending to their bride bestie, groomsgirls (or groomswomen) supporting their groom, and flower grandmas waltzing down the aisle ahead of the bride. If your closest friendships lend themselves to a more co-ed approach, consider a best woman or male of honour in your bridal party line-up. Then unify your bridal party attire by working in a key colour (so your bridesman’s tie could match your bridesmaid’s dress) or sticking to a basic colour palette across the whole party.

This trend has already extended to bachelor/bachelorette parties, which are now often fun group events and a memorable bonding experience for the bridal party as a whole. Seriously though, you need a flower grandma… too cute! Thinking of embracing this trend? Scroll below for a peek at some of our favourite remixed wedding roles from real weddings and a gorgeous styled shoot-turned engagement!
